Here is why the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has become a joke.
Posted: September 27, 2011 Filed under: "It Seems To Me" | Tags: music 3 CommentsToday the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame announced their list of candidates for possible induction in 2012. The complete list, which will be voted on in the next several months:
- Beastie Boys
- The Cure
- Donovan
- Eric B. & Rakim
- Guns ‘N Roses
- Heart
- Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
- Freddie King
- Laura Nyro
- Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Rufus with Chaka Khan
- The (Small) Faces
- The Spinners
- Donna Summer
- War
To frame this up a bit, these artists have already been inducted to the HOF:
- ABBA
- Madonna
- Neil Diamond
These, all eligible, have not:
- Kiss
- Rush
- Stevie Ray Vaughan
- Electric Light Orchestra
- The Monkees
- Moody Blues
- Paul Revere and the Raiders
- Yes
- Bon Jovi
- Journey
- Three Dog Night
- Chicago
- The Guess Who
- Hall and Oates
- Todd Rundgren
- Cheap Trick
- Warren Zevon
- The Cars
- Willie Nelson
- Deep Purple
- Johnny Rivers
How is it that the ROCK AND ROLL Hall of Fame inducts Madonna, ABBA, and Neil Diamond before Rush, Kiss, or Stevie Ray? How can they even consider Donna Summer before Bon Jovi, Journey, or Three Dog Night?
Stoo-pid.

[…] Iovine’s production is brilliant on this one, as much as part of the band as the musicians themselves. Mike Campbell’s Rickenbacker guitar and Ben Tench’s keyboard riffs get exactly the right placement in the mix. (Campbell lent TP the Ricky to pose with for the cover pic. It’s now on display at the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame.) […]
