Tech person: “Well, we will have a technician in your area.. oh.. sometime during the first half of the 21st century. Will someone be home at that time?”
Me: “Um.. well.. I guess. How much will this cost me?”
Tech person: (click.. click.. click..) “The estimate I’m coming up with is a million billion dollars. (Shouts to coworker:) What do you think, Bob?”
Coworker: (click.. click.. click..) “No, I’m coming up with a million billion skillion dollars.”
Me: “Oh.. well.. if you think that’s fair..”
(Silence.. then..
HOOTS OF DERISIVE LAUGHTER.)
