Waves

You ride them.
Some last a very long time; some not so long.
Some you ride smoothly to shore and land safely on the beach.
Some cause you to crash violently and stumble.
You will never know how a wave will go.
But there will always be another wave to ride.
And every ride teaches you something about waves.
And the way you ride is how you distinguish yourself.
Scott it’s my turn. This is simply lovely. Your choice of words convey a feeling of life’s changes. Water and waves are great images for riding out life and you tie it up beautifully in the end. Great piece of work..
